Glow In The Dark Vinyl Halloween Card

I have finished my "Glow In The Dark Vinyl Halloween Card" for my nephew Nathan. He is going to love this card. I am so intrigued of how it looks. I can see him now going into the bathroom with the lights out. I thought I would blog the instructions for you to copy if you'd like.

I used the Paper Doll Cricut Cartridge to cut the ghost costume, the body & the spider. They where cut with chipboard for the body I cut two & glued them together to give it more dimension. I layered the body in grey vinyl, the ghost in glow in the dark vinyl, the spider in Glow In The Dark Vinyl & Purple Glossy Vinyl. I cut the sayings in Glow In The Dark Vinyl using the font from the Opposites Attract Cricut Cartridge & Design Studio. The black background was embossed using the new cuttlebug spider web embossing folder. The base of my card is a Martha Stewart collection.

Cutting Chip Board w/Deep Cut Blade

I have been playing around w/ the deep cut blade & chip board since I received my housing & blade. I was very disappointed in the out come. It did not cut all the way through. I even used the setting on the "Tips & Tricks" (posted on my blog on the side bar). I then though maybe I should buy some thinner chip board. I did & love it I bought it from a great site www.createforless.com . I bought the lightweight Chipboard. It cut great with the settings from the Tips & Tricks. I made two of what I was cutting, glued & layered them. I will post what I have made when I am done..

Glass Block Lite made with Blue Frosted Etched Vinyl Used Cricut Storybook Cart.

Glass Block Lite
I used Blue Frosted Etched Vinyl & Frosted Etched Vinyl with a sparkling effect. I cut my font & images from the Cricut Storybook Cartridge.

I covered the back with a frosted sparkly etched vinyl . I used brown matte vinyl for the shadow of the hibiscous, pink & yellow matte vinyl for the layered top of the hibiscous. The font & other images are made with a baby blue etched vinyl. On the inside of the block I put a robin in the left corner & a butterfly with the ribbon in the middle.
I made this for my sister for Christmas 2008.
If you like the etched glass look this is the product to use because your not using all those chemicals that other techniques use.
If your interested in the Etched Glass Vinyl and don't want to pay a high price you can go to http://www.vinylforcricut.com/ where etched vinyl is offered at a low,low price.

Thank you for looking at my first Glass Block Lite!

My Bug

My bug was one of the first vinyl projects I did. I used my Cricut Expression & the "Store Front"cartridge. First I cut a shadow image of the bug in white vinyl then the out line in yellow green vinyl. I had a hard time layering him because I didn"t use transfer tape so I messed up on 4 of them. I bought some clear transfer tape and it made it much easier.
